meant to post this a loooong time ago, but now is as good of a time as any! warped tour kicks off this friday, june 25th @ the carson home depot center. a date near you can be found here. i will be joining the dear jack foundation/11:11 A.M. crew on sunday @ the ventura date. i'm going to leave at home any band logo sweaters... just in case.

since i'm going to be there anyway, i guess i'll go check out taylor momsen's band. idk. did i just lose all credibility there?

- monday: work, from first to last & others @ maddenpalooza, SD friends, the outline @ temple bar
- tuesday: campus, work
- wednesday: work, kathleen gets here but i won't see her until...
- thursday: SD warped! hanging out with k, r, a, and rhiannon.
- friday: work, finish off the week
- saturday: disneyland? tbd.
- sunday: LA warped!

short recap before i shower & get into bed for some much-needed slumber.

monday: after our aquarium adventure, s, j, and i went to fat matt's rib shack, where i ordered a half-rack of ribs, baked beans, potato salad, and a soda. SOOOO YUM. the ribs were perfectly smothered in bbq sauce and the meat literally slides off the bone. i ate myself into oblivion there.

tuesday: hung out with adrienne and her dogs for awhile, then headed over to eclipse di luna for tapas. ate everything in sight (steak skewers, moz & tomato, potatoes, calamari, ribs, etc, etc.). so full, went shopping with s afterwards and bought some things on sale.

wednesday: warped tour atl (#3 this year). tinsley comes by to pick me up, we go to the scariest subway everrr just to get adam his sandwich. free parking, wandering around, trying to find adam and the guest list.... did end up getting in and figuring out the guest list location later (though that wasn't without its own challenges, i.e. venue workers being sadly misinformed and stupid). after a rather fruitless search for jac vanek, wait in line to talk to errrm someone. awkward pantomiming conversations. genius (not really). finally got my glamour kills 11:11AM tee... so excited. look for photos later. didn't end up watching any bands except jack's. tense backstage moments with ryan key (showdown: who will get on stage first). elbowing danny audition during jack's set (oops). extended stage time. saying goodbyes.

ETA: i forgot all about waffle house! omg i had smothered hash browns. omgomgomgomg gluttony.

thursday: little did i know, this would be the longest day EVER. wake up for brunch at the flying biscuit cafe where i (again- surprise!) nearly ate myself to death. i had the egg-spectacular or egg-stravaganza (my memory fails) which consisted of eggs, potatoes, biscuit, 3 pieces of delish bacon, 1 sausage patty, whole wheat french toast & raspberry stuff drizzled on top). coke museum (breather). i hate animals especially when they touch you and you tell them you don't like them. dessert at chocolate pink cafe- key lime pie and chocolate cake. "i need to finish my coffee."

actually, i think my ridiculous flight home deserves its own entry. plus i'm tired. xo

when it all comes crashing...

sunday was warped ventura @ seaside park-- so gorgeous there. the breeze from the ocean is a bit deceptive though, b/c the sun is still out--> still could sunburn. nonetheless, it is still one of the best venues for warped i've been to.caught a bunch of bands:

- cobra starship - o, how i've missed your dancing, gabe.

- treaty of paris - again!

- katy perry - SO WORTH THE HYPE

- forever the sickest kids

- angels and airwaves

- the academy is... * awkward story to follow

missed the color fred (again) and the audition (again).

* so it was getting cold & breezy in ventura once the sun started setting. so i pull out my TAI hoodie and wear it. of course, as i'm walking, i pass by carden. ok. that was fine.

so, not expecting (fine, i was expecting it-- but only a small probability) that adam would be kind of enough to get us over to side stage to TAI... we get through, we're 20 minutes early... um yea basically 20 minutes of chagrin since i basically have violated the first rule of fandom: never wear band's merch at said band's show. double negative scene points if you're within speaking distance. yeaaaaaaa that was hilariously awkward, thanks to sisky coming up to adam and talking to him (insert image of me standing awkwardly with my backpack on, attempting to cover up the logo on the left side of my chest with my hand). then willbex coming up to adam (sometimes i wish adam weren't so tall, he's like a beacon). (1) i looked like i was fangirling though it was mostly just me being REALLY cold, and (2) me doing the awkward wave (william: hi; mao: ...hi). basically i had shame written all over my face. sigh. on the bright side, adam embarassed himself (not difficult, i know) and i got to hear the 2 new songs again.

yes, worst story ever. i'm sorry i wasted 5 minutes of your life that you will never get back. moving on...

tuesday night @ spaceland was sooo much fun. got to catch up with ashley & paul. seems everyone has been buried under work lately! the monolators and sunny day sets fire rockeddd and i can't wait to see them again.

warped pomona was deathly hot. tbh, i drank at least a gallon of water and sweated it out... all day. you can see what i'm implying here. i never went to the bathroom, bbs. how ODD. treaty of paris was lovely as always, and the academy is played new songs (don't explain... why? ty billiam for the consistent and amazing lulz). the new songs were epicccc loved them already. anyway, working at the 11:11 A.M. tent was fantastizzle so everyone should stop by at their date and buy yourself some pretty things! we have new pin designs. proceeds will be going to pediatric cancer research foundation. the uber popular uber sold out glamour kills 11:11am charity tee will be in at the tent in a few weeks. ty for teh support!

also please feel free to harass adam on any of the first 1/2 of the dates. warped ventura tomorrow... a reunion of sorts. see you bbs there.

mmkay so i'm back from a very long weekend - sd warped, wedding, then sleep aka avoiding homework.

i know i've been skimping in the photos dept lately, but i promise, i have a bunch. they will be up as soon as humanly possible. sd warped was lovely- great weather, so much fun to hang out with friends i hadn't seen in awhile! worked/hung out with the 11:11a.m. crew. i caught and shot the spill canvas, meg & dia (who were super cute and v.impressive), all time low (new fave fun band to shoot, tbh), bayside (where i got some of the lead singer's spit on my knee.. awkward), my american heart (FUN), and the rocket summer (first time seeing them LOVE LOVE LOVE). went onstage to watch envy on the coast, and also cute is what we aim for and watched my friends shaant.

this week is a lot of office stuff (as their album - a night at the ritz drops 9/25 via new line/scratchie):
- tuesday: 08/28 office @ cinespace. i know what you're thinking. tuesday nights at cinespace? if my myspace bulletin (aka sources) are correct, the misshapes will be there promoting their new book. and steve aoki. and jackson pollis. and cobrasnake. so basically a convergence of the hipster icons/elite. and free alcohol.
- wednesday: 08/29 (i'm being sneaky and i'll tell you later)
- thursday: 08/30 revenge of the sunset strip feat. office, let's go sailing, deadly syndrome. really stoked about this show and these bands.
- friday: 08/31 sleep.

caught all of new years day (FINALLY). ashley is so cute. she and hayley should have a cute-off contest. family force 5 pretty much wins at life. incredible and kind of metallll/crunk/aerobicizing. if you get the chance, go watch them at warped. bring yr dancing shoes.

saw the spill canvas' full set (FINALLY) with amsa from the sidestage. i heart them and i can't wait till their new album is out. amsa is on the spill canvas' bus, blogging from warped for 11:11am so check that out here.

"warped tour is trying to kill me"

so day 2 of warped tour is done. ventura will always and forevs be my fave venue for warped. there was a nice breeze.. too bad i neglected to put on sunblock as regularly as i should have. my nose is now tanned/burnt, along with my scalp. on a happier note, we're raising money and more importantly, awareness of 11:11am's and pediatric cancer research foundation (PCRF)'s causes. people are seriously so generous and very willing to listen to what the org has to say. perhaps it's my LA cynicism, but i'm always pleasantly surprised when people simply donate money and do not ask for anything in return. i've also heard a few personal stories of people who have lost friends/loved ones to cancer and my heart goes out to each of them.

pomona - i think i am still having an allergic reaction to the dust/pollen/dirt/etc. floating around in the air. good times. STAGES ARE TOO FAR AWAY FROM EACH OTHER. why is there a hurley stage and a hurley.com stage? caught some spill canvas, all of paramore, all of we are the fury (goodnight), and all of my american heart.

ventura - paramore i've seen twice thus far and i love them so much. we saw hayley bstage and i wanted to put her in my pocket. she's so teeny tiny. and adorbs. but i didn't want to be a stalker. I DO NOT LIKE THE SIDESHOW CIRCUS. DIAF PLZ. i def shaanted a little with alee, caught most of bad religion, and went to the beach b/w sets. i have picked up two rocks; they are now this trip's mascots: rocky and rocky ii. they're currently sitting inside my shoes in the car. was happy to see rhonda after a decade. tried to stop scary kids scaring kids from getting to their own signing. woops.

i keep missing new years day so i will def see them tomorrow. and the full spill canvas set plz.

i would write more but this is ridic and i need sleepz. tomorrow is mtn view, then some touristy-ness in san fran! maybe photos.

long time, no blog.

summer will be busy, busy, busy. huge events every month, weekend travels, two weddings (not mine, obvi), working pretty much a ton. good times.

plane tix for lolla are set, so chicago is a GO. should be amazing, plus the graduate is going to be playing (!!!!!!). okay more fangirl later, promise. still waiting for the schedules to go up for each day.

speaking of travels-- my good friends over at 11:11am (charity benefiting PCRF) will be on ALL of warped tour with the take action tent. i will be at most of the cali dates with angie, so if you feel so inclined, please stop by and purchase some buttons and bracelets, pick up flyers, etc. there's going to be an amazing raffle at each event, feat. signed band merch, lots of exclusive little goodies (details to follow) which you can enter either by making a donation at that specific warped date, or making a donation online. deets to follow soon (some here).

and if you're looking to help out and get a free ticket in-- there are about 2 volunteer spots open for most of the dates, but they are filling up quickly. check out the volunteer signup page here. also, you totes don't have to be chosen as a volunteer to help out-- it just means you'll have to find your own way in. awes.
