you've got so much to lose, but i don't

so i've had the graduate's new album anhedonia for a few days now, and i'm pretty sure i'm addicted. i first heard about them via my friend christi (she had sit&sink posted on her myspace) last year, may-ish.

(they totally thank the guy who gets doused with water in the liners. haha)

it's hard to a) follow-up to something as amazing as their EP, b) know what to expect from a band that i have yet to see live (though, they'll be aotp- all over the place for you newbs- on tour with punchline, permanent me, the fold all through april + also on tour with the audition, my american heart, and new atlantic throughout may + then warped july-early august)... but this album is love. after my initial rejection of sit&sink (i couldn't get past the fact that i loved the EP version so much), i moved on to the other songs. thoughts/faves:
i survived- can see this being totally anthemic live.
anhedonia- amazing guitarwork, one of my faves.
the city that reads- could see this being on the wb i mean the cw. oth.
surround yourself- vocals are to die for.
interlude- so hard to make these work, but this one is PERFECTION.
doppelganger- bitter and i love it.
justified- redone. so good. also for lolz- imagine shaant/ciwwaf shaanting to the chorus. even better.

i've decided that the new sit&sink sounds more raw (is that poss) than the old one. i think they can coexist.. peacefully :) def. hearing hints of jimmy eat world in the whole album. timeless. poppy yet plaintive. they totes could be the next j.e.w.
