paramore's vid for that's what you get premiered today on mtv2. admittedly, not the most exciting video, but it's a cute performance-ish vid. and i can't knock on paramore b/c i love hayley too much. rly. her winged eyeliner? fantastic. and this song is ridic fun live.

okay i don't know who is competing in this thing, but i'm pretty sure jessica alba appearance --> winning ticket.

your eyes are the size of the moon

do not deny the ridic catchy brilliantness of this song.

the video is randommmm to the max. the marching band long johns are a lil obscene, no? also... brendon is incredibly animated, which is sort of freaky. he needs a haircut stat. still have undeniable love for ryro. ummm spencewentz-- shave that thing. you look like a caveman. jwalk-- no comments for you.

give me envy, give me malice, give me attention

totes forgot to mention i won that meet-and-greet thing @ the sd panic! show. that was interesting. girls freaking out aotp, but i guess that's cute when you're underage. not so cute when you're my age (fortunately, i wasn't flipping out... i was too busy loling at all the "rules" we had to abide by.. including no touching, no leaning over the table, no inane conversation topics, no asking them to throw up gangsta signs.. you'd think we were meeting the pope. should've just thrown them in a bulletproof glass box). i rly can't say much other than the fact that it was interesting and someone should look up "professional responsibility" the next time they roll outta bed to do a meet-and-greet. nevertheless, i think all the winners had a good time and it was kinda cute watching them flip out the way my generation did for bsb and nsync.. even though it made me feel like like a geriatric.

despite the lecture, i still adore them. LIKE YOU COULDN'T TELL.

i finished the rest of the panic photos and posted them here.

holidaze: when it's all over, i'll come back for another year

hello my BBs,
first things first: i'd like to mention that i saw elijah wood today, at santa monica place (aka the mall connected to the promenade). he walked past me in the food court, while i was sitting with mi madre. that was awes. i explained to my mom "it's the short guy in the lord of the rings movie, the one with the blue eyes." he was looking pretty cute! and i don't even have a thing for hobbits.

i'm going to work on my backlogged photos this week, so hopefully that'll work out and i'll have some posted (i.e. panicccc photos at the disco!). i also get to look for a summer internship. w00t.

also, we deco'd cookies at e and shelby's on saturday and ryro and the long-lost rosevest made an appearance. we had a photoshoot.

and in case you were living in a cave, jack's mannequin has pressie for yall: www.jacksmannequin.com. links to d/l the trax are in the comments here.

stay safe, xox.

nothing rhymes with i'm pretty sure i'm in love with ryan ross

so i caught the last show of the nothing rhymes with circus tour @ the ipayone center (i guess formerly called the sd sports arena or something). took some photos. panic! danced a little. cameos by e, rhonda, ashley, aromee, and alee. and christine was right, dude, if you stand in the middle of the arena, the sound is kind of odd. i could swear i heard a slight echo in my right ear. weird.

kay pix. and commentary. when i get the full sets posted, i'll announce. for now, i just posted the jack's photos here in my gallery. thx for your patience.

[cobra starship - ipayone center - december 9, 2006]
GABE. love him. [jack's mannequin - ipayone center - december 9, 2006]
fyi: andrew and jay are having a facial hair growing contest.fyi: i just made that up.BOB. i'd post more but that was all the facial hair i could handle in one post.

[panic! at the disco - ipayone center - december 9, 2006]
everyone, plz meet my bf ryan ross. we're getting married, he just doesn't know.
you may recognize him as the guitarist for panic! at the disco. he also plays the drumz in the drumline.
just some dude named brendon who sings. dance, dance.yes, we get it. you're grabbing your crotch. awk shot.FYI: all the ryrolove commentary that i write.. is just for lolz. so no hateration, no "he's my bb, not urs!!" ummm yea. right. besides, i know better than to try to date a musician. but that kid is the epitome of adorable. i could fangirl for all eternity but i'll stop now.

alllrighty. goodnight.

nothing rhymes with circus

lol, i blog from the library now.

hrmm so that's what panic! at the disco ended up naming their tour..

some other names that were being thrown around [courtesy of my jm friends, who deserve pretty much all of the credit]:
- more wit, a better kiss, a hotter touch, a better **** tour
- intermission tour [shortest name ever]
- can't take the kid from the fight, take the fight from the kid tour
- keep telling yourself that i'm a diva tour
- wrecking this evening already and loving every minute of it tour
- with a sense of poise and rationality tour

you're down with the japanese

PRETTY MUCH THE GREATEST VIDEO EVER MADE.
dresden dolls v. panic! at the disco - backstabber.

myspace bulletin "explaining" the video if you didn't know already..
While on tour together this summer, The Dresden Dolls teamed up with headliners Panic! At The Disco to film a video for The Dolls newest single, "Backstabber."

Midway through the tour, DD's Amanda Palmer had a revelation, "Why not make a video with these guys? They're here, they're bored like we are, they're hilarious." She shared in her online blog. "We aren't making a 'real' video for our next single,' She proclaimed. "'What's more real than this?' We keep asking. Nothing."

"It's not something that's going to be an official release to go to MTV, it's just that we were on tour with them and they came up with this idea to kind of do a funny thing." Panic! At The Disco's drummer, Spencer Smith, recently told online publication, Undercover. "It was just something that we were having fun doing at the time while being on tour and just something I guess for the fans of either of our bands to kinda see. It's just a fun bonus thing."
"People are just arrogant and ignorant." Panic! frontman Brendon Urie told dose.ca midway into the tour regarding inspiration for the video. "We're actually going to make a movie with the Dresden Dolls about that one thing [the fans fighting] to kind of poke fun at our fans for not being nice to each other."

Call it what you will -- the tour is over, the smoke has cleared, the video is done, and it's time for you to see...

Cheers,
Bill H.

*Be patient if it doesn't play right away as it was just uploaded and is getting a lot of hits so it may take a coupla tries to work

i think there's something more life's worth living for

basically, i'm excerpting a bunch from a recent entry from amanda palmer's [the dresden dolls] blog. because she writes things in such amazing ways that i couldn't even describe the effect they've had on me over the past few days. i've only seen them twice live and i pretty much think i love them.

two years ago, when we were touring europe and i was at my wits end, thinking that the band was going to break up, thinking that it was all over and that brian and I had had enough of each other for good, i found a bright spot in listening to avril lavigne's new record and deciding to make a fake video out of the song "together". you've seen the results (if you haven't: www.dresdendolls.com/music/karaoke/index.htm). it was truly cathartic. i don't think anyone really believes me when i say that. having a project like that to throw myself into saved me. the song, with all it's adolescent cheese and overproduction, gave me a wormhole back to 15-year-old self, the lonely confused one eating her lunch in the piano practice room.[italics added]

i'm emotionally purging as we speak. (you can check my last.fm if you want)

a week before the tour ended, we got the call in seattle that ryan's [of panic! at the disco] dad had suddenly died. his only close family. he was an only child and his mom was out of the picture. our hearts sank, we sat in the bus and all looked at each other at a loss for words.

they canceled two shows. we almost didn't want to get the call that the shows were on, because we assumed that that would mean that ryan had been talked into coming back on tour when he should be at home, dealing. dealing with who, with what? ryan came back on tour after three days off, we finished up in california. the whole crew felt strange, their whole gang seemed out of sorts. no wonder. i took a long walk with ryan around the parking lot in anaheim. i felt like the whole world had been thrown at him, in all it's shitty ugliness, and what could i say? better to say nothing. we walked, saying nothing and occasionally something. we started at the hooters billboard, hoisted 5 stories in the air to reach the passing traffic from the highway. we waled to the bud light billboard, hoisted 5 stories in the air to reach the passing traffic from the highway. do you have anyone real to talk to? i will. i'll talk to you. when you're ready. don't lose me. i'm an ally. really. i hugged him and i went back to the bus, getting into my bunk with a heaviness i couldn't describe. [italics added]

i read that entire part over and over again (after i first saw it in the panic lj community). took me two days to blog about it, but here it is.
